Product Description

CHRYSO® POLYCAULK PS is a high-performance, two-component polysulphide-based elastomeric joint sealant specifically engineered for heavy-duty construction and industrial applications. Designed with advanced fuel resistance, it offers superior adhesion, elasticity, and long-lasting protection against water, chemicals, oils, and aggressive fuels such as aviation and motor fuels.

Once mixed, the base resin and curing agent form a durable, rubber-like elastomer that provides excellent flexibility and resists cracking under expansion or contraction. Unlike conventional sealants such as bitumen or asphalt mastic, CHRYSO® POLYCAULK PS delivers enhanced movement accommodation, chemical resistance, and service durability.

This product conforms to BS-4254, BS-5212, and IS 12118 standards, making it a trusted choice for architects, engineers, and contractors seeking long-term joint sealing solutions.

Applications

CHRYSO® POLYCAULK PS is designed for critical joint sealing applications where long-term flexibility and chemical resistance are required:

Method of Application

Joint Design

• 6–12 mm joint width → Sealant depth: 6 mm (not more than width).

• 12–25 mm joint width → Sealant depth: ½ width.

• Max. joint width: 50 mm.

Joint Preparation

• Clean surface free from dust, oil, grease, and loose particles.

• Use a backer rod to maintain proper width-to-depth ratio.

• Apply masking tape along edges for neat finishing.

• Apply primer using a brush and allow to dry (minimum 30 minutes, max. 8 hours before sealing).

Mixing

• Mix base and hardener thoroughly (92:8 ratio) using a slow-speed stirrer until a uniform blend is achieved.

Application

• Gun Grade – Fill into a sealant gun for vertical and overhead applications.

• Pour Grade – Directly pour into horizontal joints after mixing.

Coverage

Coverage depends on joint width (W) and depth (D):

• 1 liter of primer required for 16 kg sealant.

• Allow 5–10% extra material for surface unevenness and wastage.

Packaging

• 4 kg Kit (Base + Hardener).

Shelf Life & Storage

• 12 months from manufacturing date when stored unopened.

• Keep in original sealed containers at +5°C to +40°C in dry conditions.

Safety Precautions

• Apply only between +5°C and +40°C.

• Do not apply on damp surfaces.

• Ensure sealant adheres to two joint faces only.

• Wear protective gloves, goggles, and safety shoes during handling.

• Avoid ingestion and contact with eyes; in case of accident, rinse thoroughly with clean water and seek medical advice.
